Hmm. . .this is the one post I was dreading.  Avoiding.  “What do I say?” I wondered.  “Can’t I skip it?” I begged.  But to my complete surprise, people are actually reading my blog – that I just started less than two weeks ago.  I didn’t even tell anyone – I just decided to dip my toe in the water.  Give it a try.  See how it felt.  Well, now that I’m wet from head to toe, I guess I better start swimming.

So here goes. . .

Why “Vision Alchemy”?  Vision (how one sees things) + Alchemy (change, transformation) = transforming how things are seen, perceived, understood.

General Mission of my blog:  To educate and entertain.  To make you think and laugh.  By writing about the following topics:

  1. Fibromyalgia: I’ve had fibromyalgia for over 10 years.  I resisted starting a “fibro blog” because so many people do that.  But I realized I learned a lot from those people, so someone might benefit from my perspective.
  2. PTSD/Anxiety Disorders: I recently learned I have a collection of fairly severe anxiety/trauma-related disorders that went undiagnosed and untreated for most of my life.  Probably one of the reasons I ended up with fibromyalgia.  I’ve learned so much about trauma and the body – things the majority of medical professionals don’t know about.  So I’m pissed and on a mission to get this critical information out there.
  3. Spirituality: I was an atheist until two years ago. I don’t know what the hell happened, but one day I found myself WAY down the rabbit hole.  NOT because I was sick – I’d been in constant pain for years and never felt called to God.  So it’s been a pretty wild ride that has resulted in some interesting travel stories.
  4. Politics: I’ve been politically active all my life and can’t help getting on my soapbox on occasion.  Also, having a disability has given me a whole new perspective on activism.

Finally, I simply like to write and think I’m pretty good at it.  Will be interesting to see what others think.

Hope you enjoy!
